Enjoying Autumn

*Sigh* I absolutely adore fall. I love the crisp, cool weather. I love that it's not too hot, yet not too cold. I love the spices. I love the colors. It's my favorite time of the year.
Things I want to do this season:
- Make a felt leaf garland and wreath for my built-in in the living room
- Carve a pumpkin
- Toast pumpkin seeds
- Go to the pumpkin patch (Check! Did this today.)
- Have a weinie roast and make smores
- Make apple cider
- Go to a football game
- Start crocheting some scarves
- Work on the play quilt for our baby room
- Put weed carpet and mulch down
- Plant some mums
- Make pumpkin puree for bread, muffins, cakes, pies, scones...the list goes on and on
- Sit outside more
There's probably so many more things I can do to enjoy the season. What things are you planning on doing this fall?

Sir Ken Robinson: Interesting Take on Education and Creativity
While surfing the web I found this interesting video on a cool blog. Sir Ken Robinson speaking on education and creativity.
Read some thoughts: "Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining (and profoundly moving) case for creating an education system that nurtures creativity, rather than undermining it. With ample anecdotes and witty asides, Robinson points out the many ways our schools fail to recognize -- much less cultivate -- the talents of many brilliant people. 'We are educating people out of their creativity,' Robinson says. The universality of his message is evidenced by its rampant popularity online. A typical review: 'If you have not yet seen Sir Ken Robinson's TED talk, please stop whatever you're doing and watch it now.'"

As someone who works in both the education and design field, I understand what Robinson is trying to say.

Sunset After the Storm
Yesterday some pretty awful thunderstorms rolled across this area. I was on my way to our Petal office, having just photographed one of our new listings, when it hit. I got soaked and ran home to get a change of clothes and a raincoat. The rain was blowing in horizontally under my carport (can it do that?), a Big Daddy Weave cd was hurled down the street, and I could barely open my screen door.
But, after all of that, God gave us a sight that words could not describe. We had our blinds closed, but a beautiful glow from the windows drew us out. This sunset was absolutely breathtaking. Isn't it amazing the blessing we receive after a storm?
